We’re proud of our team members, and we want everyone else to know how great they are. That’s why each month we talk with one of our employees to let them share how they shine in their role. This month, we’re talking with Senior Accounting Manager Jennifer Posey.
What’s your most exciting project right now?
We are at the end of the year, and I have been working on financial clean up. I love problem solving and puzzles, so this is my wheelhouse. Additionally, the accounting team is working on improving processes and procedures and documentation. As Clemons grows and becomes more successful I feel it is important to create and maintain industry-standard accounting financials.
How do you utilize our core values in your role?
Collaboration – I believe that collaboration and communication go hand in hand. I strive to communicate with all departments so they are aware of what projects I am working on and how it will affect them. This can be a challenge as a remote employee but I utilize all the tools provided to accomplish productive collaboration. We use video conferencing, emailing and phone calls to make this happen.
Flexibility – I am a planner. I like to know what my day/week/month looks like and I plan accordingly. However, even though I plan my schedule there are times when something unavoidable comes up and I have to refocus my attention. I will turn my attention to issues that need an immediate resolution to ensure the client’s needs are met. Flexibility to me means being a team player and I take great pride in being known as someone who can be counted on to assist my co-workers and the client.
Resourcefulness – Sometimes my answer to someone is ‘I don’t know” and I am not afraid to say that. However, I don’t stop there. There is an abundance of information on the internet and from my previous mentors. I will put forth my best effort to find the answer or to make a suggestion in accordance with accounting best practices.
What have been some highlights during your time with Clemons?
I have been with Clemons for a year and so far my biggest highlight has been getting to know how Clemons serves the client and community. I have also enjoyed getting to know my new co-workers and clients. It is also a great feeling when I realize my opinions/suggestions have been valued and implemented when applicable.
